Q: Finger food - what's the best thing to serve?
-Betty M.
A: Here are some of my favorite finger foods, ordered from “super easy” to “a little more work”.
Thin, rosemary Italian breadsticks wrapped in prosciutto (prep 15 min ahead), you can also roll them in black sesame seeds.
Kebabs of mini-mozzarella, watermelon, basil and cherry tomatoes (prep up to 30 min ahead)
Hush puppies with jalapeno and fresh corn, served with your favorite dipping sauce (make up to an hour ahead warm before serving). I like a sweet and spicy tomato sauce.
Coconut-crusted shrimp served with pineapple dipping salsa (make up to half an hour ahead, warm before serving)
And finally, because it’s Halloween, “severed witches fingers.” These are your basic sugar cookie recipe shaped like fingers, then use an almond or pistachio for the nail, opt to color the nail with red food coloring (although the green pistachio doesn’t need any coloring), and add strawberry jam at the bottom. They’re spooky, but irresistible!
